Postini mail service is offered through Diode Communications so the customer has a way of limiting the amount and type of junk mail that reaches their mail box.  The customer can then set the junk mail filters as strict or lenient as they wish in certain categories like pornography, get rich schemes, and advertising.  It also attempts to catch all emails containing virus attachments.

In September of 2003, when there were new viruses everyday, Postini caught 88% of all mail being junk mail or virus related.  This saved the customer the hassle of deleting all of these and going through them.  Some customers even catch up to 400 junk mail messages every day with the Postini service.
